Musical Biography
Growing up in a military family, Ryan Alexander Bloom lived in 5 different states and attended 6 different schools before his family finally settled in Colorado in 1999 where he attended high school and college. He started taking drum lessons in 1996 at the age of 11 and continued playing concert percussion and drum set throughout high school and college. Ryan performed in school bands, district and regional honor bands, college bands, and the Niwot Timberline Symphony Orchestra until his graduation from the University of Colorado in 2007 where he earned his Bachelor of Arts in Music with Honors. During the same period Ryan worked in the studio and on the stage with a variety of local Colorado funk, rock, and metal bands, gaining credibility as a drumset player. In 2007 he joined the thrash band Havok and helped them to achieve a deal with Candelight Records who released Ryan's and Havok's full-length debut album in 2009. As an educator, he has served as percussion instructor for the middle school band at Crested Butte Community School and as drumset instructor for Louisville Middle School. In 2010 Ryan and his wife Rose moved to Bellingham, Washington where Rose is attending graduate school and Ryan is enjoying the mountain biking and looking for more musical opportunities.
